IPv4 to IPv6 Converter
Free online IPv4 to IPv6 converter, no installation required. Support mapped, 6to4, and compatible address formats
About IPv4 to IPv6
Converts an IPv4 address into four IPv6 representations derived from RFC standards: the IPv4-Mapped IPv6 address (::ffff:a.b.c.d), the 6to4 address (2002:abcd:efgh::), the deprecated IPv4-Compatible address (::a.b.c.d), and the short embedded form. Both compressed and full (uncompressed) representations are available for each.
How to Use
1. Enter an IPv4 address (default 192.168.1.1) into the input. 2. Click Convert (or press Enter). Four result cards appear below. 3. Each card has a Copy button for the compressed form, and an expandable Full format section that shows the uncompressed 8-group address.
The Four Output Forms
IPv4-Mapped (prefix ::ffff:0:0/96) is used by dual-stack sockets to represent IPv4 peers inside IPv6. 6to4 (prefix 2002::/16) embeds the IPv4 address for the 6to4 tunneling scheme. IPv4-Compatible (::/96) is the historic, now-deprecated form. Embedded is the short ::ffff:a.b.c.d notation that keeps the IPv4 octets in dotted-decimal form.
