About ROT13 / ROT47
Applies two classic Caesar-style ciphers to any text. ROT13 rotates only the 26 letters (A-Z, a-z) by 13 positions, leaving digits, punctuation, and other characters untouched, so applying it twice restores the original. ROT47 rotates the 94 printable ASCII characters from code point 33 (!) to 126 (~) by 47 positions, so it also scrambles digits and symbols.
How to Use
1. Switch the mode tab between ROT13 and ROT47. 2. Type or paste text into the input card; the output updates instantly as you type. 3. The character count below the input shows the current length. 4. Use Swap to feed the output back into the input (handy for chained transforms), Copy to copy the result, and the clear (X) button to reset.
Cipher Ranges
ROT13: letters A-Z and a-z are shifted by 13 within their own case; everything else passes through unchanged. Because 13 is half of 26, ROT13 is its own inverse. ROT47: any character with code point between 33 and 126 is shifted by 47 modulo 94; characters outside that range (whitespace, control chars, non-ASCII) are left as-is, so newline and space survive but digits, letters, and punctuation are all rotated.
