AVIF Image Converter

AVIF Converter turns any image into an AVIF file, a modern format that delivers sharp photos at a much smaller size than JPEG or PNG. It uses your browser's built-in AVIF encoder, so there is nothing to download and your image stays on your device. A quality slider lets you balance file size against visual quality, and a side-by-side preview shows the result before you download.

AVIF works best for photographs and complex images with gradients, where it can shrink files far more than older formats. Lower quality values (around 40–60) produce very small files that still look good for web use; values near 100 keep maximum detail for archival. Because the tool relies on your browser's native encoder, you need a supported browser such as Chrome 85+, Firefox 93+, or Safari 16+. If your browser cannot encode AVIF, the tool will tell you.
