About Braille Translator
Translate between text and Unicode Braille (Grade 1, uncontracted). Two modes are available: Text → Braille converts the English alphabet, digits, and common punctuation into Braille Unicode characters, and Braille → Text converts them back. Conversion happens live as you type, and a swap button reverses the direction using the current output as the new input.
How to Use
1. Pick the To Braille or To Text mode tab.\n2. Type or paste into the input box — the output updates automatically with each keystroke.\n3. Use the Swap button to reverse direction and feed the output back as input.\n4. Copy the result with Copy, or reset everything with the Clear button.
Braille System & Mapping
Grade 1 (uncontracted) Braille is supported. Lowercase a–z map to the Unicode block U+2800–U+283F. Uppercase letters are prefixed with the capital indicator ⠠ (dot 6). Digits 0–9 reuse the a–j glyphs and are preceded once by the number sign ⠼ (dots 3-4-5-6), which stays active until the next non-digit. Supported punctuation includes . , ! ? ; : - ( ) ' ". Spaces pass through unchanged. Unsupported characters are skipped during conversion.
