About GPA Calculator
This calculator computes your Grade Point Average on the standard 4.0 scale by weighting each course's grade points by its credit hours. You build a list of courses (course name optional, letter grade, and credit hours), and the tool sums (grade points × credits) across all rows and divides by the total credits to produce a GPA rounded to two decimals.
How to Use
1. For each course row, type the course name (optional). 2. Pick the letter grade from the dropdown (A+/A/A-/B+/B/B-/C+/C/C-/D+/D/D-/F), which shows its point value next to it. 3. Enter the credit hours (typically 1-6); rows with zero or invalid credits are ignored. 4. Click "Add Course" to append rows, or the trash icon to remove a row (at least one course must remain). 5. Read the result: GPA on a 0.00-4.00 scale with a color-coded progress bar, plus total credits and total grade points.
Grade Point Mapping
The scale used is: A+ = 4.0, A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7, F = 0. The GPA color thresholds are: green at 3.7+, blue at 3.0-3.69, yellow at 2.0-2.99, red below 2.0. Formula: GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) / Σ(credits).
