Punycode Encoding
Punycode is an encoding syntax for representing Unicode characters in domain names using only ASCII characters. This allows internationalized domain names (IDNs) like 中国.cn to work in the DNS system.
▶What is an IDN?
IDN stands for Internationalized Domain Name. It allows domain names to include non-ASCII characters like accents, Chinese, Arabic, and other scripts.
▶How does Punycode work?
Punycode encodes Unicode characters into a special ASCII format starting with 'xn--'. This allows non-English domain names to work in the existing DNS infrastructure.
