Speed Calculator

This tool solves the speed/distance/time triangle. Pick which of the three quantities to compute, enter the other two with their units, and it returns the missing value. Internally everything is converted to km and hours using 1 mile = 1.60934 km, then the result is converted back to your chosen output unit.

1. Pick a mode tab: Calc Speed, Calc Distance, or Calc Time. The input fields for the quantity being computed are hidden. 2. For Speed mode enter Distance + Distance unit (km/miles) and Time (hours + minutes). 3. For Distance mode enter Speed + Speed unit (km/h/mph) and Time. 4. For Time mode enter Speed and Distance. 5. Click Calculate (or Clear to reset). The result card shows the computed number with its unit; time results are formatted as "X hours Y minutes".

Conversion factor: 1 mile = 1.60934 km (KM_PER_MILE). All inputs are normalized to km and hours: distance in miles × 1.60934, speed in mph × 1.60934, minutes ÷ 60 added to hours. Core relations: speed = distance / time, distance = speed × time, time = distance / speed. Results are rounded to two decimals; time is split into integer hours and minutes.
