About Text Spacing
This tool automatically inserts spaces between Chinese characters and adjacent Latin letters or digits (so 'ni hao' stays intact but mixed CJK/Latin text gains boundaries), removes unwanted spaces around Chinese punctuation symbols, and also converts paired straight double quotes to corner brackets and straight single quotes to white corner brackets. Processing runs on a single click and rewrites the whole input.
How to Use
1. Paste or type mixed Chinese/Latin text into the Input box. 2. Click the Process button to apply spacing and quote conversion. 3. Review the result in the Output box and use Copy to copy it. 4. Click Clear to reset both the input and output fields.
Spacing and Quote Rules
Spacing is added on both sides of a CJK/Latin or CJK/digit boundary, so a run of Chinese characters adjacent to English letters or digits gains a single space on each transition. Spaces adjacent to CJK punctuation in the protected set (commas, periods, exclamation and question marks, colons, semicolons, corner brackets, parentheses, square and angle brackets, middle dot, ellipsis, and dash) are removed so punctuation stays attached. Quote conversion is applied after spacing: paired straight double quotes are rewritten as corner brackets and straight single quotes as white corner brackets. A before/after example card is shown below the output for reference.
▶Will it add spaces around English punctuation like commas or periods?
▶Does it change existing straight quotes in my text?
▶Why is my output empty after clicking Process?
