About Unit Price Calculator
The Unit Price Calculator compares packages of different sizes and tells you which is cheapest per standardized unit. Add two or more items, each with a Name, Price, Quantity, and Unit (pieces, kg, g, lb, oz, liters, ml, meters, cm, inches, or feet). Every unit is converted to a base quantity via a built-in factor table, and the cheapest per-unit price is highlighted as the Best Deal.
How to Use
1. For each item card, type an optional Name (e.g. 'Brand A'). 2. Enter Price as a positive number. 3. Enter Quantity as a positive number. 4. Pick the matching Unit from the dropdown so weight and volume get converted correctly. 5. Click Add Item to add more rows (you can remove rows once there are more than two). The unit price updates live and the best deal is flagged in green.
Unit Conversion Base Factors
Each unit is multiplied by a fixed factor before dividing price into the base quantity: pieces=1, kg=1000, g=1, lb=453.592, oz=28.3495, liters=1000, ml=1, meters=100, cm=1, inches=2.54, feet=30.48. So a 500 g package at $4.00 reports 0.008000 per gram, while a 1 lb package at $3.00 reports 0.006614 per gram and wins as the Best Deal. The displayed unit price is rounded to 4 decimals.
