How to Use
Enter coordinates in either DD format (e.g., 39.9042,116.4074) or DMS format (e.g., 39°54'15.1"N, 116°24'26.6"E). The tool automatically detects the input format and converts to the other.
Supported Formats
DD format: decimal latitude and longitude separated by comma. DMS format: degrees, minutes, seconds with direction (N/S/E/W). Both latitude and longitude must be provided.
▶What is the difference between DD and DMS?
DD (Decimal Degrees) uses decimal numbers (e.g., 39.9042). DMS (Degrees Minutes Seconds) uses degree/minute/second notation (e.g., 39°54'15.1"N). Both represent the same location.
▶Why does my DMS input show as invalid?
Make sure your DMS format includes degrees (°), minutes ('), seconds ("), and direction letters (N/S/E/W). Example: 39°54'15.1"N, 116°24'26.6"E
▶How accurate is the conversion?
The conversion is mathematically exact. Decimal degrees are shown with 6 decimal places (about 0.1 meter precision). DMS seconds are shown with 1 decimal place.
