It's named for its fish-like appearance, with the problem at the 'head' and categories branching off like bones.
How to Use This Fishbone Diagram Tool
Enter your problem statement in the central head. The tool provides 6 default categories (People, Process, Technology, Environment, Materials, Management). Add causes under each category using the input fields below the canvas. Click Edit Problem to change the central problem statement. Click Edit Category to rename any category branch.
