About Text Line Numbers
Text Line Numbers adds or removes leading numbers from each line of your text. Use the Add Numbers button to prefix every line with an incrementing index starting from a number you choose, or use Remove Numbers to strip an existing leading "N." or "N)" prefix from each line.
How to Use
1. Paste your text into the Input area. 2. To add numbers, set the Start Number (default 1) and click Add Numbers; each line becomes "<n>. <line>". 3. To strip existing numbering, click Remove Numbers; leading patterns like "1." or "1)" followed by whitespace are removed from each line. 4. Review the result in the Output area.
Numbering Format Details
When adding numbers, the format is fixed as "<start+i>. " followed by the original line content, so three lines starting at 1 become "1. ...", "2. ...", "3. ...". When removing numbers, the tool matches a leading run of digits followed by a period "." or closing parenthesis ")" and any trailing whitespace, and removes only that prefix. Lines without such a prefix are left unchanged.
