About Blood Sugar Converter
The Blood Sugar Converter translates glucose readings between mg/dL (used in the US) and mmol/L (used internationally) and labels each reading with a category: Low, Normal, Elevated, High, or Very High. Conversions happen in both directions — mg/dL to mmol/L and mmol/L to mg/dL — using the standard 18× factor.
How to Use
1. To convert from US units, type a value into the mg/dL field and press the → mmol button. 2. To convert from international units, type a value into the mmol/L field and press the → mg/dL button. 3. As you type, the live Category line below the field shows a color-coded label (blue for low, green for normal, yellow for elevated, orange for high, red for very high).
Glucose Category Thresholds
Conversion factor: mg/dL = mmol/L × 18; mmol/L = mg/dL / 18 (one decimal for mmol/L output, rounded to integer for mg/dL). Categories by mg/dL equivalent: Low < 70 (mmol/L < 3.9); Normal 70–99 (3.9–5.5); Elevated 100–125 (5.6–6.9); High 126–200 (7.0–11.1); Very High > 200 (> 11.1).
